Team Beachbody (2021)

Team Beachbody (2021)

With Creative Circle’s help, I secured a 3 month contract with Beachbody – a company that I’ve used as a customer and coach for time between 2013-2015. I’m not that into fitness and working out, but after a few years of putting on weight in a bad relationship and being in an office where restaurant options were plentiful – I began doing Focus T25 with friends I’ve made over the years.

It was during a tough time in my life, so having the adrenaline and endorphins from workouts made dealing with my grandma’s 4th stage stomach cancer diagnosis a little easier. Later on, I continued working out with Hip Hop Abs (Shaun T is a really positive and affirming super coach).

And I’ve found similar people working at TeamBeachbody.com (the Beachbody online store). I joined their Merchandising team in mid-August, shortly after they transitioned to a new CMS and right before they were launching a new design for some of their bundled products called Bundle UX and BODi – the new interactive workout part of Beachbody on Demand. I did a lot of Quality Assurance of their newly renamed and repackaged Total Solution Packs.

I also worked on many backend updates involving their products and SKUs. I’ve helped launch this year’s Peppermint Mocha Shakeology and some Beachbody Performance Recover products in France. Most recently, I’ve been helping them prepare for their new program launch Job 1 and Bevvy in Canada.

The work has slowed down a bit, so I understand why the contract wasn’t extended. Socially, they are a great team that treats their members with respect and donuts on their birthdays. I was lucky to be part of a paint and sip party that we were treated to as thanks for all our hard work, particularly during the Bundle UX launch.

Though my time with Beachbody has been brief, it has been a great learning experience and I feel lucky to have been part of a team that is so supportive and hard working. My Beachbody experience has been positive and encouraging. I feel it fulfilled a long standing dream of working from home, while giving me a glimpse into the backend workings of a complex e-commerce website.
